Best PDF Word Cloud

Xodo reviews word cloud

We thought it would be fun to visualize what the Xodo community thinks of Xodo by making a review-based word cloud. Here’s the result!

How did we make this? We took the text from all the reviews left on the Google Play store during the month of January and gave it to Wordle. The larger the word, the more frequently it appears reviews. Needless to say we’re happy with the positive feedback!

We have a ton of new features and enhancements in the pipeline, so stay tuned for even more Xodo goodness to come!

Xodo PDF – Now with tabs

We’re excited to announce that Xodo for Android now has browser style tabs! This feature allows instant switching between documents so that you can save time and maintain focus. Tabs are by far the most requested feature, so we hope you’re as excited as we are to see them hit the Play Store.

How does it work?

Xodo supports up to three tabs on phones and five tabs on tablets. When a document is opened it will open in a new tab. If the maximum number of tabs are already open, then the tab that has been least recently viewed is automatically closed. Of course the recent list will continue to work as it always has, so it can continue to be used to switch between documents too.

What do you think?

Do you like the new tabs? What should we do next? We’re always eager to hear from the Xodo community, so please let us know what you think at http://xodo.uservoice.com/ so that together we can make Xodo the #1 PDF app!

Xodo: Tips for your device

Xodo can leap any PDF in a single bound!Xodo will give you the same great capabilities whether you’re using iOS, Android, or Windows 8 for touch devices. However, once you get into the nitty gritty, different mobile operating systems will provide a slightly different behavior when you start working with PDF files on Xodo. Here are some pro tips for using Xodo on the different platforms.

General tips for all devices:

  • From the Xodo Settings menu (or in the case of iOS, the iOS Settings App), you can set an Author name to be used with annotations. This helps reduce confusion when you’re collaborating with others.
  • If you are adding lots of annotations, you might want to turn on “Continuous Annotation Edit” mode from the Xodo Settings menu. This will save you from re-activating the same annotation tool over and over again.
  • If you like to email documents to friends from Xodo, you can customize a Xodo specific email signature. Look for the Email signature option in the Xodo Settings menu.
  • Press and Hold your finger, or stylus, on an empty area of a document to bring up the Annotation popup menu.
  • Use the “Annotations Outline” to quickly find and go to annotations anywhere in a document.
  • You can create a “My Signature” that you can reuse for signing form fields, or adding a signature to any document. Simply create a new Signature Annotation, and enable the option to save it as default.

iOS

  • When you open a Dropbox document in Xodo, any changes you make will automatically be synced with the online version.
  • You can edit local files and folders in Xodo by selecting “Edit”. When accessing files on Dropbox through Xodo, you can only edit files in Dropbox view.

Android

  • Can’t remember were you put a PDF? Select “Browse All PDFs” to see every PDF on your device. Maybe you will find a PDF you forgot about!
  • When you open a Dropbox document in Xodo, any changes you make will automatically be synced with the online version.
  • You can edit local files and folders in Xodo by “Long Pressing” on an item in a list. When accessing files on Dropbox through Xodo, you can only edit files in Dropbox view.

Windows 8

  • Quickly share a document with friends by opening the “Charms” bar and selecting “Share”.
  • And remember, you can split your screen to multi-task, such as copy text from Xodo to an email or another app on the same screen.
  • If you are working on a non-touch Windows device, Xodo supports the standard shortcuts for zooming in (Ctrl +) and out (Ctrl -) of documents. Or you can use the Mouse shortcuts (Ctrl + Mouse Wheel).
